My family spends a lot of time at Huntington Beach State Park every summer. It is here that we have had the joy of being part of inventorying sea turtle nests with the DNR. The picture above is one of the young loggerheads that was found while counting the remains of eggs in a particular nest. While getting to know the DNR Turtle Ladies as we lovingly call them, we heard a story about a sea turtle who kept coming back trying to lay her eggs, but because she was handicapped, one of her flippers was mangled, she had problems. Well, the book followed with the assitance of my sister, Wendy. Share our love of these creatures by reading her story!
